Children’s Natural Play Area
El Caballo Park Conservancy
A grant of $24,500 will be used to build El Caballo Park, which will open up new public space in the community. A natural play zone for children will be constructed in a manner that will allow it to be relocated on the property if necessary to ensure families have a space to enjoy in a safe and healthy environment.
The Board of Directors of the El Caballo Park Conservancy is excited to announce that The Escondido Charitable Foundation, an affiliate of the San Diego Charitable Foundation, has provided funding via a generous grant for our “Children’s Natural Play Zone Project”.
The project essentially entails designing & prepping the play area, designing, building & installing the natural play elements. These elements include but are not limited to, log walking/balancing, log stump stepping/jumping, log cookies stepping, notched log climbing posts, log slab benches, stump seats, and assorted natural boulders in an appropriate safe play configuration. The project is a modest step in beginning the implementation of the El Caballo Park Master Plan . ( See full version, and movie under our vision tab).
